Instagram - Yogamatters
Yogamatters is a leading supplier of yoga clothes and accessories and is Europe’s biggest specialist yoga retailer. We recently designed an all-new award-winning responsive web platform to help Yogamatters cope with increased demand. Managing several of Yogamatters social accounts, we looked towards the most visual of the social platforms, Instagram, to help increase their presence in the yoga and activewear space and create a place amongst competition in the same field.
A visual account such as Instagram is a great platform to use when selling products for yoga and explaining their uses and benefits. As well as photographic posting, videos can be uploaded, live posting for demonstrations and/or events and Stories for behind-the-scenes footage. The platform provides the most comprehensive and groundbreaking ideas for posting visual content.
Service / Solutions
For Instagram’s static photographic platform we created a schedule of posting once per day at optimal posting times, promoting new products, events, the charity work of Yogamatters and sale items. We also shared guest blogs, our own blogs, products, promotions and the ever-popular industry-specific quotes. We capitalised on popular hashtags as well as tagging in any brands or influencers we featured and always made sure to use striking imagery to help increase engagement and build the Yogamatters community.
Instagram Stories hadn’t been around for long or utilised too much previously by Yogamatters, so we took advantage of the Highlights feature and created categories to establish a permanent place for otherwise ephemeral Stories. We created categories for Blog, New In, You, Events, Q&A and Competitions. The You category proved very popular as we were able to fully engage with the Yogamatters customers, encouraging them to share their yoga lifestyles and Yogamatters products, so we could re-post their content for the rest of the community to view.

LinkedIn - Venture Stream
To grow our own presence as an expanding digital agency in the North East of England and become a major player in the digital marketing industry. Using the business platform LinkedIn as the social channel of choice, it has a heavy presence in the B2B arena. We were keen to utilise the LinkedIn audience and share lots of industry specific news that would appeal to our follower base, allow us to interact with our own community and network within the biggest worldwide professional social network.

The month of November was a particularly exciting and strong one for us as we had lots of company news to share. We acquired fellow North East digital agency, Flow Digital and secured coverage in several trade publications that we went on to share on the LinkedIn platform. We were also recruiting two members of staff, a PPC Consultant and Digital Designer which harnessed a lot of interest from prospective applicants and also sharing between key players in the industry. We also celebrated success in the form of award wins at the Northern Ecommerce Awards which resulted in lots of celebratory comments and congratulations. Having key news to share helped us build our network and engage with others in the industry, moving towards the main goal of building our presence within the North East digital marketing industry.

Twitter - Standout
Taking on Standout as a new client, we wanted to continue to build on their already successful presence in the designer menswear arena. Standout is a menswear fashion ecommerce retailer that specialises in designer men's fashion at a lower price point. Particularly popular with the key 18-24 and 25-34 age demographics, they sell their products successfully worldwide. Having already built a following of over 12k we looked at ways to continue to grow the account.

We created a pre-planned schedule on a weekly basis for all social media accounts, optimising content at specific prime posting times. We created content that remained consistent across all channels, building and reinforcing the Standout brand. Content was created with a mix of sales messages, new product alerts, designer highlights, featuring and tagging known influencers, sharing our own blog content as well as re-sharing third-party content we would consider informative, beneficial and interesting to the Standout customer.

Facebook - Benessence
Benessence are a natural and organic wellness brand with a focus on aloe vera based products. Already successfully trading in Italy, Venture Stream assisted in creating a new UK ecommerce site to help them launch in the UK.
Alongside the new UK site, we also began to manage their three social channels - Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. And as a relatively new player in the online British beauty space, a social media strategy was created to help the brand create a strong presence, grow their database of names and overall presence on social media.
Service / Solutions
We decided to create a competition, promoted via email marketing and social media, using the social promotion application, Woobox. An organic Benessence hamper worth £100 was used as the prize, with entrants receiving bonus entries through extra sharing via Facebook and Twitter. The competition was also included on the Instagram channel with a link to the Woobox competition in the main bio.
Creating a competition is a great way to develop a new social media channel and/or brand. An incentive such as a competition helps to build the community as a whole as well as increase followers, engagement and hopefully sales eventually. Overall it helped to build awareness of Benessence which was incredibly important for them as a new player to the UK beauty and skincare market.
In addition, hosting a competition allows us to gain data (email addresses) which we can then use for future email and Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns.
